At Grace Life Family Church, we just kicked off a powerful new series called Spirit Led. And we’re starting with a foundational—and deeply personal—question: Who are you following?
This message isn’t just about direction—it’s about transformation. It’s about learning to live with a deep, daily sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and allowing Him—not fear, emotions, logic, or pressure—to be the guiding force in our lives.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He shall direct your paths.”
Not your head. Not your gut. Your heart. God promises to direct our paths, not just when life gets hard, but in all our ways. And when He’s leading, we’re not heading toward confusion or defeat - we’re stepping into purpose, peace, and fruitfulness.
Romans 8:14 declares: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” You didn’t receive a spirit of fear—you received the Spirit of adoption. That’s a big deal. Because it means we don’t have to guess our way through life. We don’t need to flip coins or chase signs.
But Here’s the Catch: You Have to Follow
It’s not enough to believe the Spirit leads—you must choose to follow. That means pushing back against all the other “leaders” vying for your attention: fear, logic, pressure, and pride. Jesus didn’t follow any of those. He was only ever Spirit-led.
That’s our example. That’s our calling.
Ever found yourself saying, “God, if this is really You, let four red cars pass by…”? That’s not Spirit-led living. It’s chance-led—and chance can be manipulated. The Spirit doesn’t shout from the outside. He whispers to your heart.
He leads by bearing witness with your spirit—that quiet inward knowing, that sense of peace, that holy nudge. And the more you tune in, the clearer it becomes.
Every day brings decisions—big and small. In those moments, we ask:
“Lord, is this You?”
“Which way should I go?”
“How do I respond?”
Living Spirit-led doesn’t mean you’ll never face trouble—but it does mean you won’t face it alone, and you won’t face it aimlessly.
Let’s make a fresh commitment together as a church family:
“I will be led—always and only—by the Holy Spirit.”
Because as many as are led by the Spirit of God—these are the sons and daughters of God.
Let’s be led.
